It’s important for your child to eat something nutritious each morning to re-fuel for the busy day ahead. Breakfast is an ideal opportunity to eat foods which are rich in B vitamins, folate, iron and fibre. Skipping breakfast may affect your child’s concentration or leave them feeling ‘fuzzy’. This is because the brain is starving for energy and needs fuel from nutritious foods like grainy bread, breakfast cereals, fruit and milk so it can function at its very best throughout the day.
At 10.40am every day the school has a comfort break for 10 minutes. During this time toast is available for children to purchase (please sign up at the end of each half term for the following half term using Arbor). During comfort break children in KS2 are welcome to bring in a healthy snack from home to enjoy if they do not wish to purchase a piece of toast. Chocolate, biscuits and other high sugary snacks are not allowed.
For children in Nursery, Reception and KS 1 toast is also available to purchase and our staff serve fruit and vegetable snacks provided free of charge. Snacks, which vary day to day, include:
Lunch is prepared in our school kitchen fresh each day and is served from 12.50-1.35pm for pupils. Please click on the link below to see a copy of the lunch menu.
